School Captains Medal Presentation

At our next Monday Assembly 9am. 14th April Tony Smith Federal M.P. will be present to acknowledge our School Leaders ( Captains , Vice Captains and House Captains) with a medal presentation.

MOSAIC MURAL

Throughout this last term the whole school was involved in creating the beautiful mosaic mural and mandala that can be seen on our library wall. Mandala artist Karen Scott worked with all children in the school to design and create the mural. The children worked enthusiastically throughout the project thoroughly enjoying the mosaic process.

Literacy and Numeracy Week

Last week was Literacy and Numeracy week. As a part of this the children at Lilydale Primary School participated in an Australian wide government initiative in mathematics called 'Reach for the Stars'. It involved the measurement of all childrens' and teachers' foot sizes and heights to determine if there was a relationship between the two. All children and teachers involved then created a human bar graph and continued with follow up activities in their classrooms to discuss the results.

JEANS FOR GENES DAY

Tomorrow, Friday the 3rd of August, is Jeans for Genes day. All students from grades 1 to 6 are encouraged to wear their jeans and a casual top to school and bring a gold coin donation. The money raised will go towards thousands of children affected by genetic disorders. The Preps are to come to school in their full school uniform as they have an excursion to the zoo.

ACTIVE AFTER SCHOOL COMMUNITY SPORTS PROGRAM

NOT ANOTHER CHANGE

Just when you thought it was safe to send your child to Active After School Sports Program we find there to be another change.

Gymnastics is now on the Monday 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm.

Martial Arts is on Thursday 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm.

This is the latest update.... There will be no more updates. All children are welcome on either or both of the nights....... no costs involved.

Lochlan of grade 5M beat Harry in the grade 5M Chess Championship. Their awards will arrive next term.
